When I formulated the product, Charlie's Choice, I decided to use a Georgia grape called the muscadine grape. Utilizing the skin for resveratrol and the seed for the OPCs (oligomeric procyanidins) gives Charlie's Choice the therapeutic values necessary for providing heart, vascular and skin health. Research has shown the OPCs to have antibacterial + antiviral + anti carcinogenic + anti-inflammatory, anti-allergenic and vasodilatory (better blood vessels) actions. OPCs help prevent cholesterol from becoming "bad" by preventing lipid peroxidation. They prevent red blood cells from clumping up (platelet aggregation), as well as helping the capillaries from being so fragile. This prevents bruising.
